I laid out an outline for what I want to accomplish with the game. At its heart it will be a simple skirmish game with mechanics to run 5-20 models per side. There will be rules for superspies (like James Bond), spy teams (The Avengers) or Mission Teams (like Mission:Impossible). I don't plan to get too complicated with the game play mechanics. It will likely be a two d6 system with die addition or subtraction for skills.

What I really want to work on is mechanics for Intelligence / counter-intelligence rules that would allow the opposing sides to gain information on their adversaries that would affect the game. After a couple of weeks of thinking on this I've decided to try a system using playing cards that I think may work well.

I will post some worksheets on the game mechanics this week.

Agents of Acronim

This blog will follow my attempt to create a miniatures game based on the spy movies and books of the 60's and beyond. Obvious influences will be the James Bond movies, The Avengers, The Man from Uncle and of course Mission Impossible.

What I want to do is go a step beyond a normal skirmish game and introduce a level of intelligence / counter-intelligence rules that will allow opponents to try and outsmart each other before the game even begins.

The first step is the basic mechanics of the game. I'm not going to go overboard. Something simple and playable is my goal.
